"Well, now I have bigger problems, when they were replaced 130,000 miles ago red lock tight was used and the dam 4 bolt heads now are just getting stripped off, they won’t budge with a socket or wrench, the heads are just rounding off, that bolt metal definitely is NOT very strong
So much for lock tight,
uggg"

Darn you!! for reminding me about the last time I got so blitzed so bad I stopped drinking liquor for drunkenness altogether
25yrs ago on my 25th
Location was Darmstadt Germany
Playing some coin toss drinking game with co-workers that I was not good at it, obviously
A 1/5th of rumple minze was had
The next morning was unpleasant with the dry heaving outside of the small US Army building
So I quit the heavy boozing for good...

Yes. I know the feeling well.

For me it was the Moutai liquor in China. That swill was flavored with Juniper berries. 3 days after, every time you'd sweat, spit, sneeze, pee......you would smell like a pine tree.

The favorite game was for each individual around the dinner table to toast the American. The toastee would end up drinking 12-20 shots of this swill....... I put an end to the game. When the 3rd toaster would begin, I'd make the whole table join. As time moved on, I quit drinking that swill and turned to TsingTao beer. Even the TsingTao would be hard, the content would range from 5-10% alcohol. Pretty stiff beer.

The first winter storm is arriving.

Steady wind at 20+ mph with gusts to near 40 mph.
Falling temperatures, increasing wind chill
Rain now, freezing rain later, finish with snow.
Expecting 2 days of this stuff.

I so look forward to a thick layer of ice on everything with a cover of snow. Branches, power lines down. chiseling the windshield clear, trying to open doors, trying to stand up on the driveway. falling down on concrete, dog walks during the storm..............

oh the joy of the season.

blizzards... they closed i80 from North Platte to Colorado/Wyoming for the day yesterday maybe today also
no truck open overnight parking after Grand Island signs were up in Iowa
no snow in the Bluffs or across the river, just a bunch of needed rain

Yep. We got a break in Central IA. Just a load of rain and big wind.

Although, weatherperson is calling for snow and below 0 temps within the next few days.

No snow cover means the frost line will go deeeeep.

one more day of this cough due to cold, hopefully the last
... haven't been under the weather like this since February 2o2o :(

The snow arrived. Now just waiting to see how much.

This will be followed with sub-zero temperatures.

Good ol' winter 1-2 punch.

IIRC, I paid about $120 for a Dana/Spicer carrier bearing from RockAuto.

The Dana/Spicer U-joints were around $20/ea at RockAuto.

triggered a palindrome yesterday...
had to give the truck some good exercise, i have not been getting it up there to these speeds (speedo is 7mph off btw) for the most part of this year, but since tacoJuice is now at 255c in some spots i can get back on top of it without care...
