Anyone else having problems with the wireless charging pad?

Anyone else having problems with a galaxy s9+ not charging with the wireless charging pad. I had an s7 before and it worked. This new phone is bigger and I'm wondering if the size is preventing it from being in the right spot to catch the charge. It fits almost perfect in the spot without much space on the ends, while my s7 had to be pushed right up against the left side to charge. But it does lay flat.

Anyone else having this problem??

For my S8+, I have to bring it forward and slide it to the left to get it to charge, and is finicky sometimes, but I've got a case on my phone, so that's likely why. I haven't got a ton of room to move mine in there either.

Same as @AbsurdBuffalo said, put the phone up and to the front and it seems to do better.

Thanks. I'll give it another try tomorrow. I have the otterbox defender on it so it's a little bigger.

Yeah, that's probably your issue.

Remember, those wireless charging pads work by effectively forming a low power air gap transformer between the coil in the pad, and the coil in the back of your phone. The range is limited, and the closer together you can get those two coils, the more power will be delivered to the phone as air is a very poor conductor for electricity.

couldn’t get my iphone plus to charge either with thicker Otterbox. switched to a Magpul case & glass screen protector and works fine (plus the phone is way less bulky).

same here, s7 had to be pulled to the front.

Havent noticed any issues with the s9 with incipio case. I have, however, noticed that after about 20 minutes of charging on the s9, the phone makes a weird beep and stops charging... does the same with my wifes s9 as well..... maybe getting too hot??

I run a Note 8.

I put the phone in the correct place on the pad, eventually the phone gets hot while charging and the charger starts beeping with a orange light on. I remove my phone and it is very warm and I shut off the charger.

Lmao I have the iPhone 8 in a apple silicone case, figured it couldn’t charge thru the case so I just ran a cord. Had no idea there was a switch lol. Went out in the garage tonight and tried it works fine with the case on. Had the truck for about 2 months now...

I have the same problem with my Note 8. It get hit then beeps and stops charging. Decided to just cable it since I have it up on my vent anyways. [emoji55]

I have a 8+ and a silicone case. The charger is def a little wonky. Usually takes a couple of seconds for me to get it to engage. Haven’t tried it without the case yet but I find myself using the cord so I can play music off of my phone without switching to blue tooth. I guess the wireless charger is good for long drives but just running around town I am using the cord.

I try using USB for music and can't get it to work, it will charge my phone but at a very slow rate.

Correct. I wanted to see if the music would sound better as BT tends to compress from what I have read.
If you bluetooth your phone to the radio it will play your music. Plugging your phone into the USB port won't quite do it. Your phone and Entunes need to talk.

I have Entunes running. Just figured I could use the USB over BT.

The USB option is not lit up when plugged in.

If you plug in a Jump Drive with Music on it into the USB port it will give you that option on the screen. If you plug your phone into the USB to charge it then your phone has to be bluetoothed to the radio to play the music on it then you select Bluetooth for your music on your Entunes screen. Your music app has to be open also for the music to play.
