Atkinson cycle 3.5

When I first got my 19 with the 3.5 I was really concerned about the hesitation and performance issues that eveyone is talking about.During the test drive at the dealership none of this surfaced I'm assuming because of the route we took. Anyway, as mine got a few miles on it and the changes ive made mine now runs smooth, no hesitation, and performs pretty damn good for a v6.

I had researched all the options for improving the transmission shifting and gearing on the 3rd gen tacoma and finally decided on regearing which I did. I'm very happy with my truck now, but even though I had regeared I honestly think, like it has been mentioned by you and many other owners, the truck must have software that learns the driving patterns and habits of the owner over time. So many owners have said they have experienced the positive change in shifting from the truck 'learning' and if nothing else over time it minimizes the complaints that people have been raising. All I can say is the Tacoma is an excellent truck no matter how to look at it, it's a keeper.
 
Man, reading through this forum about a week after getting my '19 TRD Off Road.

I thought upon test drive, that this thing kicked total butt.

Especially coming from a 3.8 2010 4speed doggy Jeep.
 
I test drove a few Tacos, and while they are not going to overwhelm anyone with power, they seemed to run, and shift fine. B is actually considering buying a Taco, since it seems she should keep away from Kia vehicles, they are magnets for being hit if she owns them. Instead of more debt, I'm trying to talk her into a used one instead of new.

That's what I did. Couldn't afford new so I bought used with low mileage.

Kia are good vehicles.
