Didn't see any threads on hitch ball mounts.
What are you mounting your balls on?
How big is your ball?
Drop inches vs lift?
Class III-IV or Class V?
Taco's have a 2" opening how's your mount fit? Sloppy? Tight?
What brand mount do you have?
What brand ball?
Got pictures of your ball mount?
 
I use a 1” Reese hitch on a 12” bar with an 1 1/4” drop and a Reese hitch step attached.
All Reese brand.

About $20 at Walmart for the hitch and about $10 for the step. Definitely one of the cheapest usable implements added to the truck.

Given your posts above, I went ahead and bought in on this. It did cost me more than $20 altogether and did get it via Walmart's hosted vendors.

As you can see from the photo, like you, I got the locking pin security hitch as well.

It’s a great add on, especially for the price.
I went back and looked it up after your post. I was going off memory before. They’re $20 instead of $10 for the hitch step. Definitely worth the $40 investment IMO. I had a ball and locking pin laying around. If you don’t that’ll add about another $20.

How in the god awful hell do you even use that claw? And where'd you get those birds from?

The only thing I worry about these step thingies is whether some dumb kid will see them as a way to hitch a ride.
