brake drum gasket?

It recently turned 20k miles when I last rotated the tires. Anyone with an oz of commonsense isn't going to pull the drums when there's nothing wrong with the brakes, especially the rear ones.

find your rig's parts diagram to see if a drum gasket is located then?

gotta set up a time to investigate this on the Gen2 where truck is down for extended period
pull drums
clean it out in there
check for any seepage
and replace gaskets

Let me help you.

Are you loosing brake fluid?
Are you loosing rear diff fluid?
Any signs of oil tracking on the inboard side of the drum brake plates?
Any signs of lubricant on the inside of the rear rims?

If the answer to these questions is NO, then you have nothing to be concerned about.

.... still looking to do this on the Gen2 ... clean it all out and inspect it all behind the drums

Checking for rear axle seal leak...
removed drum from relatives 2o11 taco, probably first time in ever since the drums were seized and I tried EVERYTHING tic tic
Used those pry bolts and the mallet and the sledge since these aren't coated but are crusting a bit

Remnants of that paper gasket were found but most of it was worn off in 11 years and 66k miles
