Cant get ex exhaust pipe to match up to intake manifold after head replacement

So I put a new head gasket on my 96 Tacoma. Putting it all back together but the pipe from exhaust manifold to intake manifold does not quite reach. Its so weird because it's essentially one unit when everything is bolted down . Came apart fine no damage no problems . Its like taking the wheel off your car and when you go to put it back on the holes don't line up . All components are properly bolted down

Would help to state what engine this is, and exactly what pipe your having trouble with.

Forget it , me moron. There is a egr component that fills up that space . Thought I was loosing my mind . To long of time between tear down and build

Grab a 6 pack, and chill out....thats what I do when on the job too long.

Great! I was going to explain on loosening all the manifold and pipe bolts first, then start everything by hand before tightening anything down. But all good you have it figured.
