This is probably a really dumb question, but please chalk it up to a general distrust of dealers and their warranties. I bought a certified Tacoma with 28,500 miles about a month ago. Part of the deal is getting regular service to keep all the warranties. I got an email from the dealer that I was due for my 45,000 service. I responded they probably had their records messed up and my car had 28k. I asked if I needed to bring it in at 30k. He responded I could do so at 33k. Seems reasonable since the truck was all checked out to be certified, BUT I have had too many negative past experiences with slimy dealers and could easily see some future day when I have a big problem and they say, "Well, you violated your contract and missed your 30k service by 3,000 miles." Should I call a lawyer?
Well, I did have one good experience. Long ago I had a Ford with a seriously messed up engine and they discovered this with 23 miles left on my engine warranty during a regular service visit!
