Engine Idle- Tacoma

Hi
I’m thinking about getting a ‘21 Tacoma, from an ‘18 4Runner.
Realize I’m not bashing, just asking a legit question.

I test drove a Tacoma over the weekend, and the engine seemed to idle rougher than 1) my 4Runner 2) the Tundra I drove 3) a Chevy Colorado that I own.

My question is only if a bit rougher idle is somewhat normal for the Tacoma or if this was a bad example and I should probably avoid that particular truck.
Mind you, it wasn’t horrible, like the engine was truly messed up, but I just want to make sure, since both me and my son noticed it.

Thanks in advance

What engine are you test driving?

Yeah, sorry, it was the V6. A ‘21 TRD Sport w the V6. It just felt...rough. Like when I was sitting at a light, full stop.
If that’s normal, then...it is, what it is. Just had to ask before I considered the purchase. :)
Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it, when I got my 19 with the v6 I also thought it idled rough. After a few miles and using a name brand gas either mine smoothed out or I just got used to it. I'm not sure what triggers the DI cleaning cycle but some have complained of the noise when it's cleaning the DI injectors. I've never heard mine go in not the cleaning cycle however mine does idle different at times.

Got a safety recall notice in the mail today about replacing the low pressure fuel pump. It states that the engine may run rough. Maybe that is a contributing factor to the rough idle.

My 2019 was recalled for the low pressure pump and I had it replaced a couple of months ago. I always run either 93 or 89 octane gas and mine had always been pretty smoothe. The new fuel pump did help, I'm not gonna say it didn't, however mine was smoothe enough to begin with that had it not been a recall I wouldn't have had it changed. Even after the new fuel pump I don't feel that mine runs right on 87 octane gas, it runs, and I'm sure by yotas standards it's just fine but does mich better on 89 or 93.
