Any suggestions on exhaust systems that will improve mpg? Any other suggestions on how to improve mpg?

This, unless you get into messing with fueling and lean it out a bit.Hate to break it to you but nothing you add will improve mileage. Just maintain the vehicle so it's running in top condition and change your driving habits.
I've heard that keeping rpms under 2k can improve mpg average. It's a little difficult where I live cause I constantly have to drive back and forth over a mountain and there's always bumper to bumper traffic lolHate to break it to you but nothing you add will improve mileage. Wheres the dyno sheet? From Lou : 2009 Tacoma TRD 4.0; I put pertronix shorty headers & left my catalytic converters on ; AFE cold air intake ;, dual exhaust all the way back from headers; & after aftermarket mufflers , improved horsepower up to about 300hp; gas mileage up by about 4mpg ; towing strength greatly improved. Very satisfied with everything . Made great difference.

Especially when none of the upgrades are internal where the clydesdales live.Just because ya spend a bunch of moneys doesn't mean ya get a bunch of ponies...
Oddly enough, with stock intake and exhaust, Turd gens have several tune options that put us around 300hp with a little less tq... but we can't talk about all that... Turds are garbage... [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]Especially when none of the upgrades are internal where the clydesdales live.

Does the Runner have psi's yet???I'm thinking you went from 236 to 240 crank with all that. Mostly high RPM too.

Or were you planning to? I don't burmember...
Life happens... lolNah still grandpa slow. I was thinking after a year of ownership but it may have to be postponed.

A blower delivers in all rpm rangesI think it's possible to add horsepower to the 4.0 V6 with bolt ons. But whether you'd actually feel that increase or not is up for discussion. I personally don't think that most of them are worth the money. l can buy a lot of gas with the money spent on parts that don't deliver.
Many bolt ons advertise a best case scenario for their product. But all these products added together don't mean that all their supposed power improvement is accumulative.
Hell. I'd love to bump up my Tacoma's performance just like almost everyone else. But l have yet to read about one that delivers in the rpm range where I'm driving.
In regards to a mileage increase.
Make sure everthing is working as it should. Maybe pump up the tires a few psi. Don't carry tons of gear that you don't really need. But the real way to improve it is to change one's driving style.
