Hood scoop

Hey guys, on my TRD sport Tacoma, it come with a non funchtional hood scoop as we know.. I have the 2nd gen tacos. 2007. Is there any way to mod the hood scoop to make it functional? Any mods out there to make this possible?

The scoop is too short and too far back to be functional as a ram air. Some remove it to let heat escape. One guy ran a hose from the intake box to the hose but it didn't do anything. It's really just for looks.

Lolllllll what's the hell kinda redneck technology is that[emoji23][emoji23]

I'm assuming it's just better to leave it alone lmao. My goal was to try and squeeze out as much HP as possible, I'm too poor for that TRD supercharger

I'd just save your money because these trucks just aren't that fast even with the blower.

What is that contraption??? I respect the ingenuity but doubt that it did much other than put a few bugs in the K&N (I see they have a sticker).
It did NOTHING over stock besides the bug thing.
If stock pulls ambient, this hackjob is a waste of time and money.
That hose and airbox are getting nice and toasty over the block im sure as well.

Amazingly it actually looks like it’s made decently. Don’t know if that $680+ is worth the bugs in your air filter and 6 HP increase (just estimating unless someone at this company has thrown a Taco on a dyno after an install lol).
My vote still goes to the home made K&N/Vacuum Hose design Bojangles posted earlier. Much more cost efficient.

Not sure how it would lead to any gains since it isn't forced fed unless you make a custom box that seals against thr hood when it's closed. In the end, supercharger and even then I'm just a bit faster than an Ecopoop Mustang which aren't fast cars.

Yeah. I’m doubting any gains at all. It actually looks like it could be a closed system with a custom box that sealed (like you said) but they are only selling half of the equation.
Nonetheless, in my opinion, it’s a Tacoma, not a sports car. A few horsepower isn’t going to change the world.
Each to their own though.
