If your key fob battery is completely dead? Is there alternative way to start your 2017?

I would think it needs the fob. If there was a way to bypass it people would be stealing them left and right.

The battery in your key fob runs the door locks......there's a chip in the fob that starts the Taco. Take the battery out of your fob.....go to your Taco.......hold the back side of your fob with the Toyota emblem to your push button and it will start.

Yep. I was researching this a few weeks ago. We bought a Camry with push button start... I was gonna pass until I learned it didn't need the battery to start the vehicle.

Dont lose your key fob like me, well i left it in Florida. Cost me 400$ for a locksmith at the airport. Lesson learned.

Toyota shud make a way to over-ride the system in such an event.
