IMO 2.5” is perfect. I’d run 275/75/16 or 275/70/17 (cheaper and more option in 17”) with +14 (TRD PRO wheels) to -6 aftermarket for a wider... (for @Bojangles ) STANCE.

No, I lifted mine 3” with a revtek pro 140013 spacer/AAL and put 285/75/16 KO2 E tires on MB TKO 16x8.5” -6 offset rims...
I would do a king 2.5” lift with 275/70/17 KM3’s on TRD pro 4runner wheels.
Maybe next time...
