Anyone know how to tell if the truck has factory JBL system? -2012 4door lb sport 2wd

It would say JBL on the door speakers and headunit.

Okay thanks.. the truck has a lot of bass that’s why I thought it had it but I have no JBL logo anywhere

If it's anything like the new Runner I just bought, Toyota pumps up the midbass so it sounds powerful but there's no low end and their eq drops the bass as you get louder.

So replacing the sub with a better one will still be limited by the system eq? I know it is to a point, but...

Yup. The JBL system uses a separate amp to power everything.

No. It's still a 45 watt max per voice coil amp. That's not a lot of power. The best way to improve the JBL system is to ditch it.
