I’m in the same boat. 2017 Limited with TRD exhaust. Already found an easy clean way to mount fishing rod holders and pretty much anything else on the deck rails. . Not the best picture but you the idea.

I miss the 3rd rail mount on the back of the bed. I did use a lot for those same reasons. I assumed when I got my 17 it would be on just like my 05 model was. I regret not taking it off and putting it on my 17.
