16' TRD Off Road DCLB Inferno

So... Here what's going on. I have a 2016 TRD Off Road, DCLB.
I am getting a 3/2 leveling kit with the add a leaf (aal because I am putting an ARE Overland top on and am told the aal is better/stiffer for the shell and you still get the lift).
I am set on the Pro Comp 7032 16x8 with 4.5bs. I would like to run 285/70/16 but was told by the lift shop that that requires a ton of trimming and that for 285s you have to stay at zero for offest/bs.
Does anyone agree or disagree?
Obviously I hope to hear something other than what the lift guys says because I want a wider stance and don't want to pull the plastic mud guards out of the fenders. Would 275s allow for offset/bs? How much (-6/-12)offset, (4.5)bs?
Any input, info would be much appreciated as I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the tire/wheel/clearance/trimming information out there and being green to all of it.

Thanks in advance!

I'm putting 285 70 17 on ans taking off my 265 70 16 factory trd off road wheels and tires. I'm being told by my wheel and tire man that I shouldn't have any issues with clearance. If I do I'll make a few changes.

Ok, so i have been looking for a new set of wheels and tires myself. Every time i figure something out a new question pops up. I want to run
275-70-17 with fuel vapor wheels. My question is: if the wheel is 17x9 can i still run the tire if it is a 7-8.5" recomendation?

Have a 16 tacoma off road, want to put a lift on it that won't change or might possibly improve the ride. Don't want to void the warranty either. Don't know much about them, doing research, although, it's becoming a little overwhelming. I am looking at the rough country 4". Any thoughts, recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Novice here! Also, first time on this forum, I may have posted in the wrong place.

Whats your budget? You can deffanitly improve or maintain stock ride quality just dont use a spacer lift. Look at toyteclifts.com plug in your year and all that and check out Ome lift kits or toytec has a cheaper one that i run and like alot, its bilsein 5100s and eibach coils aka toytec coils but thats all i can suggest cause no experience with anything else. Also if you got the extra cash get tge control arms also its worth it.

I would check with your dealer about the warranty. I believe that anything that isnt jst a bolt on cosmetic piecewill void it, unless, you go through toyota. I opted not to get the warranty on mine so i cant be for sure; i do however know that you can get an after market warenty from your bank that will cover everything. That said, i just got a 2013 TRD off road and i put the rough country 3" suspension lift on it. So far im loving it. It put jst the right amt of lift without looking to big, or change the ride. Also its pushing the max lift you can get before having to get new suspension put on.

So I asked myself what I would put on my own truck that was under $1000, I came up with this:

Front Bilstein 5100 shocks adjusted to 2.5”, plus a ½” strut extension for a full 3” lift to clear 33’s
Rear Bilstein 5100 shocks with 2” lift add leafs

This will be a great on and off road kit that won’t break the bank! $966 total with tax
I got on Goodrich KO2, 275/70R/17
Wheels are Rock Star II
