Im planning on lifting my truck
Mainly for looks
And for use bigger tires

What how did you lift your truck?

I wanted to lift mine till I read great multitudes of threads on lifts.

Cutting cab mounts.
Alignment problems.
Stock or aftermarket UCA's.
Weird sounds.
Vibrations when taking off and slowing down.
CV joint angle.
Shimming the rear leaf springs.
Loss of MPG with bigger tires.

List goes on, just thought of those off the top of my head.

Im guessing you didnt lift your truck

Nope.

Only time it's off road is the beach.

I bought a 4x4 SR5, only thing I've done it for beach driving was switched the stock wheels and tires.

From 245-75/16 to 265/65-17 Toyo Open Country AT's. Almost exactly the same height, but around 1 1/2" wider.
Any picture of your truck?
Would like to see how it looks

Nice truck yup that looks wide
Looks better than stock
Any rubbing with those tires?

I need a lil more wider tires tho
My truck stock tire size 265/70R16
And i think its still too skinny for me

I'd planned on going with 265/70-17, but didn't want to take more of a hit in gas mileage. I lost about 1.5 MPG just going with the wider tires.

Not sure but if you go wider than 265, you may need wheel spacers, or offset wheels. I'm just guessing here...honestly have no clue.

Before I lifted my 2017 TRD DCSBOR I read through alot of internet posts and gathered an idea of what I was looking to do and what problems I might run into. I lucked out and got what I wanted with no problems.

16" KMC XD135 WHEELS

Falken Wildpeaks 265×75×R16

Bilstein 6112's up front clips set at 6 driver, 5 passenger

Bilstein 5160's in back

Headstrong 3 leaf progressive AAL w/Overload left in

Nothing else regarding lift added.

Alignment is perfect. Stock UCA's. No rub. And I take it through some gnarly **** and then back on the road where it handles much better than when stock.Attach54567_20191013_193832.jpgAttach54545_20191012_201746.jpg20190921_191039.jpg

Total cost, please.
Total cost installed and alignment.....

Wheels and tires $1530

Bilstein 6112 and 5160 $1000

Headstrong Progressive 3 Leaf AAL $200

I ordered the AAL directly from Headstrong Offroad Webste. I think it is listed at $189 so with tax it was right around $200.

The rest I ordered through a small local shop. Tires and wheels were installed writhin a couple weeks because they had to ordered them. I did have to wait almost 6 months for my bilsteins to come in. They kept telling me they were on back order. I would have just gone somewhere else but it was gonna be way cheaper to wait them out since they were gonna install them and align my tires and install my AAL at no extra cost. I think I got a great deal. The wildpeak tires are excellent I will say. I drive pretty agressively on mountain roads and those tires feel like they have glue on the treads because they stick to the road nicely. I have also taken then through some rough areas with alot of loose granite rocks and have not had any rip through the sidewalls like the stock Kevlar ones did. Also I had read where alot of guys were saying you should avoid putting the circlips of the bilstein 6112 at the highest settings. Mine are at 6 driver 5 passenger and it drives on and off road great.

So, for around $3000 you got a first rate upgrade. Compared to other stuff Taco owners around here spend their money on, like endless vanity "upgrades," that's a good deal.

Of course, that's just my opinion.
