Locking gas cap;2016 Tacoma 4x4

I will be honest. I stole once when I was about 4 years of age. We had a local family ran gas station and stole a piece of gum from a gallon tub. I think it was a penny. I put the piece of gum in my mouth and chewed it. My mother almost 5 foot y’all she beat me like there was no tomorrow. I’m serious the kind of butt whipping you go to jail for now. It was some kind of bad. There was dust and gravel flying up from the force of the ass whooping. I then had to take the half chewed gum back to the store owner and tell him what I had done. He of course told me to keep it.Very sweet and giving older gentleman, I of course said no I couldn’t. I’m sure he saw the ass whooping I had just took. I never stole our thought about stealing again. That was the best parenting I have ever had. I will never forget that moment. I’m almost 42 now . Oh yeah I don’t chew gum either. Lol thanks mom

Lol.
I have had some beatings that I look back on now and laugh about. The sawed off hockey stick hurt worse than the leather belt.
I don't chew gum either, and we are just months apart in age.

We were both blessed with great mothers. Not because we were beaten when we did wrong, but because they loved us enough to care about what kind of adult we would become. Like you said, thanks mom.:)

PS. I'm 64 and my mother was a tiny 4'11" tall. I'd rather face a 6'8" man with a knife than my mother pissed off. I really miss her.

She is the meanest/ best mother I could have. I never heard wait till your dad got home. She wasn’t waiting she took care of it. I never got a spanking I didn’t need. Most of them I remember.

My Dad was an abusive alcoholic who hated me and wished i was dead. My mother was just abusive and a habitual liar. My grandparents were absolutely beautiful souls, and I owe them everything. Miss them both very much every single day. My grandmother was the most loving lady I could have ever hoped for to raise me. My grandfather was tough but always fair. If I stepped out of line he let me know either with stern words or his belt. But I also knew that he loved me and wanted me to grow up to be a good man. Couldn't have been easy to be in their 50s and all of a sudden have young kids to raise. They took us in when most people would have just left us in the foster care system. I was in Afghanistan on my first tour when grandpa passed. When I retired from the Air force and settled down I asked Gram to live with me, and she did. Best, almost 3 years ever was having my Gram come move in, and then in 2012 when she passed away it was devastating. But I truly do owe them everything!

Although we all have a different story we can all agree that we had an adult figure in our young lives that guided us and held us responsible for our actions, something missing in a great deal of society today.

This thread sure got off topic but still a very informative and enjoyable read.

I’m 51, 5’9 195lbs. My mom is still alive, is 76 years old, 5’0, 105lbs soak and wet. And I’m still scared to back talk her. lol

The good old days when an ass whooping cured all of our hoodlum acts.
