Looking to buy pre-owned Tacoma...any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I've always liked Toyota Tacoma's and now I'm finally looking into making my first Tacoma purchase. My preference is a 4x4. Do you all have any suggestions as far as what years are best and which to stay away from and what are things to pay attention to when looking around?

07 and up. Looks for frame rot and make sure the 4wd works on the test drive.

Not sure what area you're from, but anywhere north that salts/treats the roads for snow/ice, rust is the biggest issue.

Check the backside of the rear diff, up here in New England lots of them rust/rot out and start to leak.

Thanks for the information. I'm from south Texas, don't usually get any snow, but being that I'm looking to purchase a pre-owned Tacoma it is good to know about the rust and frame rot issue not knowing where some vehicles are coming from.

That's for sure. Traded mine in and dealership auctions off the older vehicles they don't want on their lot.

So......it could end up anywhere.
