Max tire size on 2014 TRD Sport?

Time to replace the stock tires, looking to increase size. It came with 265/65/17s. I found OEM 16" wheels with 285/75's on them. Doing the math, that looks like about 33's. Has anyone put 33's on without a lift kit?? I'm sure i will need spacers, but don't have the cash for the full work up yet. Thanks for any input- E

@TacoKen got it.
You can fit 265/75/16 no lift,
275/70/16 1.5-2” lift +13 to 0 offset is best
you’ll need 2.5”+ lift to get the 285’s to fit up front. You’ll also want wheels that have a 0 or -6 offset for best fit. I wouldn’t go wider than 9” on the wheels. 7-8.5” is best.

I got a 05 taco and put 285/75/17 and I got a 3" front and 1" rear plus 1.25 inch wheel adapters that are hubcentric and cut a little piece of plastic.hope this helps

Thanks! the wheels that came stock are 17x7.5" with a 30mm offset. In general- it a wheel/tire combo fits on a stock 4Runner from this same generation, will it fit just fine on the tacoma? thanks for your help-

I found a 285/70/17 set of take-offs from an FJ Cruiser, that's about an inch less in height than yours i think, but does that make them wider, since they are the same width? I could fit them on my stock rims (30mm off set) or use the ones from the FJ (but they have 15mm offset). not sure what setup i'd have to look at for those. obviously, i'm working within a fixed budget.Thanks !-

The stock 4runner wheel/tire combo will fit the stock Tacoma.

No same width 285. The 70 and 75 is the height and that is a 0.9” difference.
You’d want a 2.5-3” lift and use the wheels with the +15 offset from the FJ

Ended up getting these- 295/75/16s a guy took off his. I am thinking 3” up front with 1.5” spacers so I can turn with out rubbing. Does that sound about right?

It will rub but they should fit. A 1.5” spacer would be like -6 offset and 1.25” wheel spacers would be like a 0 offset with those wheels and tire combo both should work. Let us know.

I would not go bigger than 1.5” spacers, 1.25” should work.
Depends on the look you want. 3” up front with no rear lift would put you in a major bro lean. If you’re into that... otherwise I’d lift the rear at least 1.5”... 2” if you want more of a factory rake.

I'm at 2" lift with the same size tire as you picked up. All I've had to do is trim plastic, will do the cab mount chop eventually, maybe over the holidays, I get very minor rubbing though, only turned and tucked. My caster is also at 4

Like @Crawdad said you’ll have some molding/trimming to do but 2” would be minimum lift. 2.5-3” is ideal. A good alignment can do wonders. 1.5” total means you’re 0.75” closer to the wheel well and 0.75” more ground clearance.
