Need help

I bought a 2014 tacoma 4cyl used with 50k miles for 21k. I love the truck but there are just some things that bug me. The gas is terrible imho. Granted it has bigger tires and a 2"lift. I'm getting like 300 miles on 1 full tank. Also, the 4cyl can sometimes be annoying. It just doesn't do it. But I knew that when I bought it. Anything to make me a feel a bit better and in love with it like when I first got it lol.

Smaller lighter tires
New spark plugs (yeah yours should be good till 100k, but what u got to lose?


I can say I didn't get any mileage difference with a 2" lift.

Pretty sad, the v6 can get the same mileage.
 
I'd also refrain from running the tank past 1/4 of a tank on a regular basis.
It's your money tho, dropping the tank to change the fuel pump isn't exactly fun
 
Thank Bojangles, I was thinking about the tires but with the lift I don't know what tires would look good. Any recommendations? Right now I'm running these20180411_180858.jpeg

What are those?

I'd say find their weight...... Then look for another 16" tire that may weigh less and isn't a POS.

I've been running 265/75/16 duratracs in load range C and they don't look odd to me with a 2" lift.
 
Ya I'll check I think mine are 285/75/16

Also, I heard something about getting them re geared to accommodate the tire size and weight

Yeah, I edited that out of my post.
I'm not sure how well it's gunna go.... Taller would lower your rpm on the highway but make it harder to get up to speed....I'm sure it's already a dog.

Smaller would get u up and moving quicker but raise your cruising rpm thus worse mpg.

At least that's my train of thought, but I'm not a gear person and could be 100% wrong.
