I sprayed a bunch of leftover FF spray bottles I had into the rear subframe of my old Corolla in April
At the end of June when it was in the 90s there was a huge puddle of FF under the gas tank when it and gravity found weep holes lol

No, not one drop.

Well it's on there now, better than nothing and better than what Toyota put on, so I'll have to live with it now. 35 years ago I only had Ford do rustproofing on the old Bronco and people still are amazed at how well the frame has held up, and I'm sure being garage kept helped and will help this Tacoma now too.

Maybe I'll just take a bucket and car wash and a sponge down to the local car wash where I can use the light rinse and wash it by hand and stay away from the underside. But the wash Toyota has like I said has no underside spray, just soft rotating brushes so it shouldn't get very wet underneath, but it's gonna get wet when it rains so what's the difference?
 
Imo, woolwax is a little better than fluid flim being thicker as it goes on, but it still can be washed away with a few car wash's. If your a greenie, you'll like it....its far more environmental friendly than the cosmoline thats petrol based. Woolwax like fluid flim, its best for chassis's that have some surface rust already on them to encapsulate. There's a bunch of different stuff out there now to pick from. I still think cosmoline rp-342, or crc are as good as any. They've been around a long time.

Fluid flim will dry to a point in 90 degree heat, but for the most part it stays greasy picking up sand and dirt on your frame making it look like crap in a few months....thats if you stay away from car wash's and deep puddles. Driving on wet roads is bad enough where you get tire spray on your undercarriage. I never heard the term the metal sucks up the ff...i'll call bs on that.
 
Went to the Toyota dealer today and they ran it through their car wash and it seems like it took the FF off of the windows and body but still looks the same underneath as they have no underside spray. Also called FF today and talked to a guy there, said it was fine to do that, said just don't use high pressure wash which I already knew. It's on there, that's how it is, I'm sure it'll be fine, we'll see what happens.
 
How did that FF get all over the windows!?
Also I was unaware they had a customer service number lol

Yeah just Google "Fluid film customer service number" and it comes up. Talked to John, really nice guy who seemed to know his stuff.

When I was sitting in the waiting area watching through the glass this guy spraying I could see fine mist going up. I asked him when I was done if I should wash the truck and if so when and he said "you probably don't have to", well he was wrong, I just got back from the self service car wash because in the white light in the garage I could see smudged areas on the hood, the car wash at Toyota has those spin around soft cloth things which worked well on the sides of the vehicle but on the top it just has these long strands of soft material which don't do much, so I went to Advanced Auto and got a real soft hand mitt washing glove, took my bucket and wash down and used the hose on soft rinse setting and scrubbed this off, what a pain.
 
did they spray the FF in the weep holes- doors, tailgate, rockers?

i use this Canadian stuff to spray inside those weep holes, its VERY fluid, non-toxic, clear, NO ODOR, mostly drip free but does attract a small amount of dirt build

I'm not sure but he probably did, he sprayed the heck out of everything and I did see him shoot some in that little area on the tailgate.I'm sure he hit everything he needed and some places he shouldn't have like the windows lol!
 
Here's another question for you guys, my truck came with the "step" type running boards on the side, so you can step up if needed. I don't need it, and quite frankly like the looks of the trucks without it on. If I have that removed, must I do anything to the holes that are drilled into the metal?
 
Its when you have fluid film, and driving on wet roads it tends to dip and stain the pavement till it totally wash's away....its one reason i hated the stuff. Another reason it never totally dries, but stays greasy attracting dirt on everything that has been coated with it.

Are they direct bolt on or did the mounting points needed drilled and or modified

I thought these were drilled into the frame itself, my terrible misteak!
