I drove my 2016 home 2 weeks ago and wasn't happy about the constant shifting, blamed it on being a 4 cyl but later took it out and for if I babied it and watched how I accelerated it was better, still not very happy about it,
was use to having cruse also, and thought all vehicle's had intermittent wipers

Haha. Yeah, when Toyota says base model they mean base model.
The first Tacoma I ever had back in 2002 was the same way. I didn’t even think to check for intermittent wipers, I just assumed every vehicle since the ‘80’s had them.
