Came close to wrecking several times after this photo, but didn't get a scratch on it... Ice is unforgiving and unpredictable. Although it kinda looks like slush in the photo, that was dirty, solid snowpack below my truck and covering the trails (notice how considerably clean my tires are).
I could feel my heart in my throat as I was practically being choked by the surge of adrenaline and the fear of uncertainty every time I lost traction on the grades. Especially when I had to go in reverse to head about 200 yards back down a trail that I could no longer commit to due to my common sense kicking in (nerves being a b****).
