Snugtop XTR truck cap

Thoughts on Snugtop quality vs. Leer?

Last truck cap I had was a Leer on a Chevy 2500HD back in 2001. The cap quality seemed ok but I had never ending problems with the remote lock not staying locked and the rear door opening on the freeway (!).

I put a SnugTop on And a carpet kit.
With a 12 inch sub woofer

Looks like good quality. I like the roof rack option, but I'd stick with the key operated over a remote. Seems like the remote was playing a role in your leer unlocking and opening on the freeway...i can only imagine the headache.

I have an ARE cap on my truck and I love it. Seems like a great quality cap to me

Undercover SE

This of course in not a cap; however, wanted to share with the group as well...

I chose the Undercover SE, you send them the paint code and have the cover in 2 days direct from factory. Comes off with no tools in less than 5 minutes. Exceptionally strong top lid with lite composites to reduce weight.

Turns out the XTR is only available for the short bed and I have the long.

Best bet here in NorCal is probably the Snugtop Rebel. With carpet on the ceiling, light and drop down slider at front runs $1900 out the door and on the truck.

Not 100% committed to a cap yet but if I do it'll probably be that one.
