I tried to order my Tacoma with a tan interior, without having to order a "Limited", and it ended up coming through with a black interior with red sort touch materials on the doors and dash over the passenger air bag and I was told that the SR5 was not available with a tan interior. I would like to get rid of the red and take it to black (already have had the seats done in black leather). I've been told that the door panels are sold as whole units and with the dash panel installed would be in excess of $1,200. Does anyone know what the material is and if it will take a dye and if so what type of dye. Or is it feasible to disassemble the door panels and panel over the air bag and recover them. Two trim shops have told me that they would not try.
 
You'll open a huge can of nasty worms. Tell yourself, It's fine like it is and ain't worth all the $$, headaches & work.
