the big LBJ...

Somehow my 2001 tundra had nothing of the sort either. In the 19 years I had it, I never replaced a ball joint in it, only a steering rack, sway bar links, and new coil over front shocks outside of brake pads, rotors, and tires when dealing with trucks front end .

Only the price of precious metals gets better. Old trucks...I don't think so.
You need to learn how to properly invest your money to make lots more of it, than pissing it away on a worthless vehicle....thats how you end up broke when all said, and done.

this gen2 RC i am trying to take care of sure is looking like it needing big repairs / maintenance already it only has 126k onit
already had a biggie months back with the front wheel bearing...
now the power steering vane pump and hoses are looking suspect
not totally sure yet about the ujoints, transmission or rear brakes

Last standard cab Toyota pickup I had was back in 78 that had the wolverine 4wd conversion that was done in california. The shop that did them wasn't very good. A friend, and myself had to totally redesign the front geometry after the original setup quickly broke. I had that truck for a few years till the body rotted out so bad it failed state inspection. Mechanically it was sound.
