After all this, I feel like drilling a hole in the side of mine and making one.
Now at the maintenance intervals, I need to make sure the tech does the same procedure [emoji849] what a time consuming process.
Standing an waiting for the transmission to get to the 'perfect' check temp, the tech mentioned how much extra time\$ it costs everyone because there is no dipstick. They should have given us a sight glass of cold\hot or a straw that operated at optimal or cold temperature.
The straw that is already there operates at a temperature somewhere between cold and operating, the tech said it's hard to hit right because you have about a 30 second window while the transmission warms to hit the window, then do the check.
Now IF the red straw that was in the was just a touch shorter, one could do a check of fluid when "cold"... No need to bring it up to a silly temperature before checking. BUT define "cold"? Depending on ambient temperature cold could be anywhere really (30c or -30c) ... That doesn't work... stupid mistake removing that dipstick...
Any mechanical engineers out there have a solution for us to this lack of dipstick? Would be cool to see an aftermarket part come out so we could manage it ourselves...
