What did you do to (or with) your truck today?

Nothing worse to affect fuel economy, and performance is tires that weigh over 35 lbs, and are e rated for these gen3 v6 taco's. A fishing buddy had these 40 lb e rated 265 70 16's tires on his 2019 trd....said it killed his gas mileage, and made the transmission hunt like no tomorrow.

I'm good with that little drop in mpg's.

That's not that great, especially that 13.3 mpg, Thats tundra territory. I got that on short trips in winter with my tundra v8. With these stock 245/75 16's Firestone Le destination tires on my sr5 v6 taco, I haven't seen worse than 19 mpg, and change towing my 5x10' trailer with a snowmobile and gear. Been seeing almost 23 mpg on average when nearly empty. For all I've been told by toyota, they end up choosing the best overall tire when building a certain trim truck. Been happy with the firestones so far. Who knows I may end up with another set.

Nothing. Absolutely Nothing.

The truck slept in the garage today.

I did put a couple miles on a single wheel wheelbarrow to move dirt around the property.

Took the scenic ride to my shop this afternoon going on a side trip over a section of canaan mountain around wangum reservoir. It's been a 4wd road in the past, only find 99% was paved this summer. There were several cars parked up there in a scenic area with people looking at the colorful fall.foliage. I was amazed what the town had done to widen, and pave that winding trail of a poorly improved dirt road. I guess thats progress, but it was way more of an enjoyable challenge when I took that route toward the end of last winter.

Time this morning for my trucks quarterly year tonneau cover treatment. With weeks lately of dry weather, the cover needed a massage with some wolfsteins. 15 minutes later, cover looks happy again.

Come on you guys, you must of did something with your trucks today....other than drive them.

I hated the destinations they made more noise than my Hankooks ATM

The firestones are as quiet as a church mouse on my truck. They have decent traction in snow if under a ft. In fact they're as quiet as the yokohama's on our prius. I once had a set of duratracs on my old tundra...now they were noisy, and wore out before 30k miles.
Buddy of mine recently put a set of goodyear workhorse tires on his frontier, and told me to try them. I can get a good discount on goodyear tires too.

I didn't like the whine on the highway,I had 285-60-18 on my tundra on 18x8.5 momos kuhmos exstas loved them the don't make that size in 17s so I'm looking at Nexans 275-60 or 285-60-17 for next set with more of a street tire Screenshot_20230625-063040~2.png

I never ran any tires, and wheels larger than the stock 265/ 70 16's on my tundra. I tried several different brands, and types during its nearly 300k mile life when I owned it. Some like the general a/t2 grabbers were unreal when towing in deep snow on trips to quebec. Others like the stock dunlops sucked big time.

Those 18s on my tundra did fit perfect on the Tacoma no rub at all should have put those on it and swapped on the taco wheels for the tundra.my buddy works for tire buyer.com good connection

Same here, one of the guys I snowmobile with is a buyer, and salesmen for goodyear. I can get a fairly decent price for most brands of tires their shop carries, and a really good discount on goodyear tires. Fact is, I'm not totally sold on goodyear tires. It's like hit, and miss with them.
