I actually did something to my tacoma today... painted those pesky flares on wheel wells. now a fine flat black ....

Man, that looks great. Makes me miss my last gen one bad. Same color, 2004 model. Bought it a month before the 2005 model gen twos came out because I loved those first gen Tacoma’s so much. Wish I still had it.

Good question. I can’t remember a factory paint name. I always called it maroon. (I was a paratrooper and it matched our maroon berets). I don’t know though.

Been there a few times. Not quite to that extreme haha but definitely have had 3 or 4 extensions and even a knuckle to reach a bolt. What a PITA!

Holy **** it was a pain, & the socket slipped the tape
I had around it & left it firmly on the bolt of course , it was pretty straight forward up to that point the other issue was there's an electrical connection hidden on top of trans you can't see ... At least it broke cleanly & re connecting was easy..
