When I popped the hood to wipe down the engine covers, the intake cover wasn't attached. Do these things pop off in their own through normal (maybe a little abnormal) driving?

I’d keep an eye on it maybe check it in a few hundred and a thousand miles see what happens. If you’ve got a manufacture defect you’ll want that fixed.
