429 is on of my favorites!1973 Ford LTD with 429View attachment 20783
My cousin just sent me a text yesterday and said “your old car”... sold it to one of his friends a long time ago and this is how it looks now. It has a 351 in it he took the 289 out and painted it red. View attachment 21192View attachment 21194
Yeah. It’d be worth more restored to OEM but everyone has their thing.Looks great. I’d have left the 289 in for nostalgia but I wouldn’t complain about a 351 either. Lol
I like the combo of 289 heads and cam paired with a flat-top 302 block. Makes for a fun, snappy little engine and most people could never tell the difference from a factory 289 without looking very closely or looking at numbers. 302 has a 4 bolt crank pulley and 289 has 3 bolts. Built a few for guys who wanted a factory appearance and sound but a few more ponies in their ponies and didn't care about numbers matching. HahaLooks great. I’d have left the 289 in for nostalgia but I wouldn’t complain about a 351 either. Lol
Nice! Mine was a '70 also!1970 Chevelle. My older brother gave it to me for Christmas. The engine was shot so I had to rebuilt it, but I wasnt going to complain. View attachment 23129
“Objects in movie are cooler than they appear”That's like the Chevy in dirty Mary and crazy Larry
It was a regular Impala. Caprice was an upscale Impala but was 2 door only.View attachment 23133 it was 66 caprice
[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]My dad had a 67 Caprice. 327, 4 bbl, TH350. Kicking that Quadrajet in sounded like flushing the toilet and I swear the car bogged before it got it’s gitty-up.
