Spent about a month there in August one year literally outside the entire time. That was a freaking miserable experience.
Jumped in by C130 and hit the dried lake bed like a sack of crap. Then climbing the Tiefert Mountains like an idiot for weeks after that.

The ocean just has that relaxing effect tho.Even in that desolate landscape you can see the beauty of God’s handiwork. It’s pretty amazing.
The only other thing I’ve seen so amazing was the blood moon in Iraq.
It’s like it takes up the whole sky. Freaky.
