Gen2 rust porn

i NEED a product that will easily & effortlessly remove this tarshiittt coating the dealer sprayed under this Gen2 taco 13 years ago
i was told to NOT use the brakleen stuff that i was using to soften and remove with puddy knife
this KROWN is supposed to just eventually MELT it away from the Eric O videos
WILL IT ? ? ?

WHEEL ARCH ROTT

are there any known cases of this happening at all on the Gen2 Tacomas
or did Toyota fix this common issue on the older gens and preTacomas

Gen2 is about 20 years old
IF this is a problem there should be readily available PICS of this Wheel ARCH ROTT out there
i have yet to spot down any so IDK
whut U say ? ? ?

You need to thoroughly check the frame....mainly the internal box in sections, as they rust bad from inside out....usually it's too late before it's time to save them. I've seen a bunch of wasted gen1, and 2 frames that were replaced out back of the dealer stacked against the building like cord wood.
So far the gen3 trucks have been ok, but word has gotten around to use some sort of rust inhibitor on them when their chassis's are still in like new condition.

the interim topic is Wheel ARCH ROTT

does it occur on the Gen2 Tacoma with no preventatives done to prevent that sort of thing behind those fender flares

the domestic pickups still seem to suffer this ailment in this area afaik

gen3 does NOT have near the enough time elapsed for any Wheel ARCH ROTT to occur or so i would suppose

Did you not read my post above? Those gen2 frames are no better than the gen1's, especially any box in frame section.
If your meaning the rear wheel area for the beds quarter panels that sit outside the composite bed tub, I haven't seen that rust, only the tail gate, and bumper assembly.
As far as time on these taco's, I think toyota only cares about 10 years as far as as rust through with its cab, or chassis for all gen's, so were getting there with the gen3 before were done with those.

There you go off point again with a video replacing a steering rack....assumed this was only a rust related thread.

Yes, every vehicle's chassis that is steel will develop rust at some point unless protected....it's not uncommon you know.
