Why do you drive a manuel transmission ?

I guess I'm confused thought this was a 6. Well that explains it...normal. It's even worse when a test drove a 2020 gen3 2.7 4 cylinder auto from a local dealer here. Buying the 6 was a no brainer at over 100 hp more. All these taco's are too under powered for an auto, and the final gearing they have. The 6 cylinder auto is more like the 4.7 v8 my tundra had.

there is no 6 in a single cab tacoma anymore, not since 1997
and i have no clue as to why they ever stopped doing that!?

They did it for the same reasons most other manufactures trucks built today are extra cab, or crew cab models. The majority of buyers didn't want single cabs.

well that is a dumb move

some want and need one and then cannot find one!

The auto transmission on my 2020 gen3 will downshift automatically when going down a hill to 4th, or even 3rd depending on the hills grade. It thinks just as I would.

These latest autos learn your driving habits, and road conditions...the new software the ecu has in the gen3 is nothing like the old autos where you needed to manually shift them in d2 or d1 for any engine breaking.
